The course:

Robotics, Learn by building, module IV: Prototyping and 3D printing

This module will fuse together everything you learned in the first three courses in the series. You learn the fine art of prototyping, which is construction of original machinery from scratch. You’ll then use it all to build your first robot, a 3D printer. 3D printers really are robots, and with a 3D printer you can then literally print custom designed parts for your robot designs. The 3D printer design we will focus on will also double as a 3D scanner. You will learn various 3D scanning and modeling techniques such as photogrammetry.

Ian will show a variety of both tools, techniques and best practices, including tips and tricks from his own decades of experience in prototyping and modeling.  You’ll see first hand how to use tools you may already have to work in ways you probably never thought of, to make complex parts.  You’ll also learn different mold making techniques and special tools you’ve probably never seen before, or show good and safe ways to use these tools.

This bundle package includes only the “cheater kit” of laser cut parts kit for the 3D printer / scanner you build in the course:

Included in this bundle is the course and “cheater kit” which is ONLY the laser cut birch assembly plates for the 3D printer / scanner in the Prototyping & 3D Printer course. These are only the laser cut birch parts. You will need to provide a whole mess of aluminum extrusions, bolts, electronics, etc… This is covered in detail in the course as well as modifications & customization of the printer / scanner and you can see the parts list as the first lesson in the course.

It is with much sadness that I cannot ship outside of North America.

The laser cut parts can include free custom text such as your name and some smart alecky comment. Please add in the notes what text you would like etched on the X axis frame (up to ~34 characters) and on the Hot Head truck (up to 50 characters on 3 lines, the top and bottom lines are restricted visibility and so cannot be very long).

Every kit is custom crafted and thus has a very long turn around time. Please allow three weeks for manufacturing. After this the kit will be shipped from Canada.
